This is What They Call 'Civilisation'

Westerners hail themselves as the most civilized citizens of the globe. They claim that the great knowledge and modernization belong to them. That is why, native tribes are totally left out because they don't live in brick houses or speak English. It is a cardinal sin to not know English.

What left me remain "enthralled" of this great western culture is their "great respect" towards teachers.

For them, it is very fine to ignore their teachers and not talking to them, even when the teacher demand a reply. Why should them answer, they want "students rights". They should have a choice to do or decline.

For them, leaving the class before time is classy, besides who the hell they care about? That teacher up front there is just another prop."I don't care" is a powerful mantra, even it could blow the teachers away.

For them, teachers are just another living form of knowledge. Like a talking dictionary, or a talking history text book. They don't care if they poop or fart while the teacher's teaching, anyway who's that divine creature? A teacher isn't God or Gandhi, they don't worth our respect.

And the worst thing, they don't care to thank their teachers, literally, or bearing gifts during teacher's day. After all, what pivotal role do teachers exert? Besides teachers are paid. Right??

So they say. So much for a great exemplary nation. I remain awed. Thank you for teaching me the value of your nation. Which is nothing.

I feel sorry for the teachers in western countries who are dedicated to these bunch of pricks. Perhaps their thanking way is by scratching teacher's car. wow.

I'm so grateful that I won't be teaching anywhere else but Malaysia. At least I'll have something others will never obtain; "gratitude", "love", and most appreciated, "respect". And those are something to envy about.
