U think U're SO GOOD?

Some Marxist's theorist argued (past tense because he's dead) 'The most important things to learn are outside school'. Which actually denies the significance of schools these days. Which indirectly insults me, and fellow teachers, and whoever in teaching career.

When I was in my A-Level days, I committed myself to all the informations in the book without judging the truth and relation to me. And this statement is a sample of my dumb days. Like, it says school is not as important? And what the hell am I doing in the college for 2 years studying Marxist's theory which actually conveys that school aren't important?

say hi!
Conclusion is, Marxism is ironic and this idea is premature. I don't even know why did Cambridge inserts these informations in the textbook in the first place.

But these recent days I've been trying to relate these statement to my surrounding.

Maybe the theorist was actually referring to the life of the ordinary and unprivileged, like those locals in my remote village. School doesn't make any sense to them, it almost nonsensical, especially moving to higher education.  These are some of the evidence:

The glorified certificate holder of whatever university claimed that he/she is the great one, because he/she is qualified to study in the university which is just a far-fetched dream to some. But these are tonnes of things that he/she do not learn compared to the ugly ordinary folks.

well, not so ugly. but sweet people, aren't they?

1) Solidarity- Isn't this the most important thing? University students doesn't learn about this. Like, befriend one for no reason, no matter he/she was a school dropout or a peasant. We are friends because these people are honest, and helpful during hard times. Now tell me city dwellers, have you ever feel so connected overthere when what you do is being selfish and 'menjaga tepi kain sendiri'? How sad.

And I believe, from many portrayals, town folks are friends with one another for benefits, like mutual importance. Now where is the sincerity?

2) Loyalty- Oh tell me, are the village folks smoking with infedility, adultery, scandals and divorce? And you city residents, are clean as a white paper?

3) Some skills- Hunting? Special dish? Spare me that 'boiled egg' shit. Carpenting? Fixing things? Oh, now you say these skills are for the country people who aren't smart like you, but have it ever crossed your small brain that these simple-minded folks are a lot capable than some city commoners who only knock the keyboard, send text messages and write some paper check?

Let say if God maroons you in an island, alone, when your cellphones are better dead, how would you survive? And you tell me that village folks are second-rate? Come on dude, wake up and wash your face.

what a gadget!
4) Humility- This is something that city people MUST learn. I'm so upset with some downtown civilians who brags about himself when all he got is just a scroll of certificate. And now he dares to swear on his mother, bossing around like he is the creator of the world. Where gone the morals? Respect?

And you talk about freedom of speech. Bullshit. There's nothing to talk when mannerism is down the drain.

End of list. I don't want to hurt, I'm just being frank of what the hell have you become. And this reminder goes to me also.

Conclusion ; both formal and informal education are integral. One vouches the future, one shapes what kind of person will we become.

And Karl Marx, the world is better without you. Makes my socio book thinner. Cheers.   : )
