Of Death

If I Die Young- Band Perry

***

Now I'm in the process of reading 'Tuesdays With Morrie' by Mitch Albom. I must say, this novel, though with simple diction, is a fuzzingly gripping novel, a heartrending read that discuss about the generals of life.

Death
Family
Career
Childhood
Dilemma
Pain
Happiness
Gratitude
Regret

-the common themes of life-

I want to share a few inspirational lines which lies deeply in my heart.

"Everyone knows they're going to die. But nobody believes it. If we did, we would do things differently".

"So we kid ourselves about death. How can we be prepared of death?"

"Do what the buddhists do.Everyday, have a little bird on your shoulder and ask, 'is it today? Is it today the day I die?' Well the truth is, if you really listen to that bird on your shoulder, if you can accept that you can die at any time, then you might not be as ambitious as you are'

The culture doesn't encourage you to think of such things until you are about to die. We're so wrapped up with egotistical things, family, making money, getting a new car- we're involved in trillions of things when the end result is all-known death.

Therefore, we should just stop at a moment, hold back, and see what has happened. Is it what we wanted? Is our death worth of these little acts?

Or, we want something else, something more spiritual to feed our soul, so that death is an end of a fulfilled life.

Cheers.   : )
