It happened that yesterday was the big day for Indian community in Auckland. Hence they held this festival in the middle of Auckland Quad near IMAX. I was on the move for my late lunch and suddenly a huge crowd of people hurried to the quad to see the show.
It was as matter of fact, quite fun. Though the quad was thronged by Indian community, I spied some locals enjoying the event as well. It was one hell of a day.
See? This plural community fills the world with colours and varieties, not just black and white.
Thus it got me thinking, what will it be a world of homogeneity?
Must be awfully daunting. Everything is similar, everything is perfect, nothing is to compare with. Plain boring.
Its not just a matter of races and cultures, but other mechanisms and elements like beliefs and sexualities make this world an interestingly complex world to live in.
Different religions like Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Christianity, Jews, etc etc etc has cherished this world and offered people with different perspectives. They have different creeds and stands, which gives a definition to their psyche, producing their identities. The same goes to heterosexuals, homosexuals and bisexuals; they have different stands, making each of them unique in their own way. Don't you agree?
Some groups might argue that their belief precedes another, but why argue when the difference makes you a great character? I mean, regardless the difference, if everyone lives on the belief they stand on, it should not be any problem.
It is sad when war breaks upon the difference. It's devastating.
Or friendship breaks when they can't admit one's changes or, might be a secret they happen to know without one's confession. Why peek when you can't bear the consequence?
Anyway, I think pluralism is wonderful.
