How about a glass of vodka?

Since the last o-week party with my flatmates, I am eternally scarred about westerners frenzy nightlife. Let say, you initiated an effort to finally open up to the communal society which happens to be a bunch of drunkards. It's crazy I know.

The last party I went, some guys were having a hard time to remain composed and collected, ended up either passed out or wobbling on the street.

I remembered the bartender asking me, ' Do you want to go with some vodka? 'cuz it's no fun with ginger beer alone'. For a second I thought, hm, why not give it a shot it's a once in a while moment, lets cherish this. But knowing my limit I declined the offer, even if it's on the bar. *huge success!*

This 'hey lets go get some drinks' culture is apparently, to my lens, not suited to our Malay lifestyle which choose dinner over drinking. In such gatherings we'd dine together, then a good round of coffee-chat about recent activities and recollecting good ole times. Its just that, drinking is not a Malay thing to do. Its like Malaysian mothers prefer nagging and beating to punish rather than a slow talk and ground the children.

Speak of grounding, I can't find the relevance in the grounding method to implement discipline. Unless parents chain the child down in the dungeon, thats what I call 'grounding'. Because children can always find a way out of the house, let alone if the parents are occupied with work and stress. For me, reverse psychology works the best. My mom never told me to not climb up the trees, never reminded me of the consequences. Instead she sarcastically telling me to do it often, especially when I fell from a high branch. yea I got the taste of her medicine.

Back to alcohol topic. Can someone explain the fascination of drinking to me? Because I kinda missed the spot. Or maybe I'm just not interested to know. But what I know is, the foul smell from the alcohol itself induces puking, let alone the taste.
